  • Grammy Awards Digelar di Las Vegas, Jon Batiste Menangkan Album Terbaik

    Jakarta | Penghargaan Grammy Tahunan ke-64 digelar di MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas, pada Minggu (03/04/2022) waktu setempat. Ini merupakan pertama kalinya Las Vegas menjadi tuan rumah Grammy Awards.

    Jon Batiste memenangkan Grammy untuk nominasi album of the year melalui “We Are”. Kemudian nominasi pop duo atau group performance dimenangkan oleh Doja Cat melalui lagu “Kiss Me More”.

    Disusul Olivia Rodrigo yang meraih Grammy untuk nominasi new artist. Sedangkan penghargaan untuk nominasi best song jatuh kepada “Leave the Door Open” yang dinyanyikan oleh Bruno Mars, Anderson .Paak, Silk Sonic.

    Hal yang tidak biasa terjadi dalam pelaksanaan Grammy adalah munculnya Presiden Ukraina Volodymyr Zelensky lewat rekaman video yang meminta dukungan untuk negaranya yang sedang berperang melawan Rusia. Ia mendesak para artis papan atas untuk “mengisi keheningan” yang ditinggalkan oleh invasi Rusia dengan musik.

    “Di tanah kami, kami memerangi Rusia, yang membawa keheningan yang mengerikan dengan bomnya. Keheningan yang mati. Isi keheningan dengan musik Anda, isi hari ini untuk menceritakan kisah kita,” katanya seperti dikutip dari AFP.

    Zelensky muncul di malam terbesar musik di Amerika Serikat (AS) saat kemarahan global atas tuduhan kejahatan perang Rusia di Ukraina meningkat, dengan penemuan kuburan massal dan mayat di kota-kota dekat Kyiv.

    Penampilan medley pemenang besar Jon Batiste memberi penghormatan halus untuk perjuangan Ukraina, dengan gambar bendera negara berkibar di sudut atas set.[]
